Summary: Secret Society by Tom Dolby
Okay, so I think I should do book reviews on here. Yea, I think I will :) So I just finished Secret Society by Tom Dolby. I have a very strong opinion on this book. I liked it, but then at some parts, I didn't. The book was $7.99 on amazon.com. Allthatglitters21 (Elle Fowler) recommended this book in one of her Glitteratures one time and knowing me, I was kind of getting sick and tired of the "summery books" where the girl and the guy fall in love, they do it, blah blah blah. I wanted a book that is kind of a mystery and a thriller all in one. That was what Elle seemed like it was. I mean, the book was good. It's about juniors in high school. Each year, the society picks 14 juniors out of billions of juniors in New York city. The juniors know about the society but they don't know what goes on in it because there are rules where if a member talks about the society outside of meetings, something bad can happen. One night the juniors all recieve a text message saying to meet in a specific spot. Of course the text is from an unknown number, but most of the juniors know that it's from a society member. They finally all meet up at the Night Of Rebirth initiation and all get drugged up and eventually get tattoos on the back of their necks to show that they are members of the society. The book is pretty weird. I don't want to go too depth in detail just because I will give it away. But I will say there are two deaths in the book and some of the juniors are trying to find out how it happened and get themselves out of the society because they think it is dangerous. But I am very confused. The end was very unexpected and it didn't seem like an end at all. I don't know if Dolby will be coming out with a sequel. I just know this was his first book for young adult readers. The ending wasn't a cliff hanger either. So I don't know if this book will be it's own series. I will look up on that. Anyway, I think that's all I can tell you without giving the book away. Haha! :) But the book is $7.99 on amazon.com and I recommend this book to readers who like the mystery type of books. Let me know if you read this book and then leave a comment down below. Thanks :)
